Hello!  Choosing to get help for your relationship can be overwhelming and scary! It’s important to know what you’re getting into and make sure it’s the right fit for you.  I believe I serve people best by being completely honest and transparent, so here are the most common questions I receive and my answers.  If you have a question that is not listed here, please email me directly at midori@midoriverity.com.

What does it cost to work with you?

$97/month – $10,000/package. I offer many options in-between, depending on the needs of the client.

What are some alternatives to working with you?

Some hire a psychologist, marriage therapist, other marriage coaches (they won’t be as fun or energizing!), or choose to go-it-alone. A psychologist and a therapist have received a formal education in their fields. They know how to diagnose your problems and treat them based on what they’ve read in books. been taught be a professor, or experienced in a clinical setting.  A marriage coach may have more direct experience, based on their relationships, but it’s important to make sure their teaching philosophy is in alignment with you. Some are faith based, others believe the man is the dominant one in the relationship, and I’ve even talked with a well-known relationship coach that says if you argue at all, you are not with the correct person.  (Note: My teachings are not faith oriented; I believe both partners are happiest when they feel equal; and on the subject of fighting – ummm, if you’re human, disagreements and arguing are part of life. Sorry, I haven’t figured out how to avoid the last one BUT I can help make it more constructive and healthier!)

What makes you qualified to help couples?

I have a B.A in Communications, with a focus in Sociology, from the University of California, Davis. The degree is nice, but it is not what makes me good at what I do.  The reason I’ve been so successful at coaching couples is that I’ve read, studied, and tested what the leaders in the marriage therapy and the counseling world suggest to make your marriage work.  I’ve thrown out much of it and kept the tools that REALLY work for the modern day couple.  Also, I’ve become a super nerd in the science of the brain, and use this science in an easy to understand way, to help us become who we want to become and crush the perceived obstacles in our way. This has proved to be a winning formula for my couples!

Other things I brag about that adds to my qualifications (haha, I try not to brag but think it’ll help you get to know me)..

I’ve written the bestselling book, ‘Secrets to a Kickass Marriage’. I’m the Relationship Expert for the California Women’s Conference. I’ve been featured on CBS, Fox News, YourTango, and countless radio and podcast shows.

Oh, and also, I’ve been with the same guy for almost 30 years.  We’ve been to hell and back. I’ve used every tool I teach, and as a result, we have a pretty kickass marriage and life! I LOVE guiding couples to achieve the same! There’s nothing better than breaking through the pain and hopelessness, to realize your relationship can thrive, to the moon!

Is your coaching only available online?

I also host live events but strongly recommend going through one of the online coaching programs first, so you can gain more value out of the live events.

What’s your philosophy to help couples?

My goal with every couple is to create breakthroughs that involve a lifestyle and mindset shift. This lifestyle shift is focused on achieving the deepest connection, excitement, and joy. My experience is that it’s not enough to simply learn new communication skills or to concentrate on what you don’t like about one another. To truly have a long-term, thriving relationship we have to start with your core beliefs and instill a mindset that is clear on what you want in life and where you want it to go.  We actually develop a blueprint to make your path tangible, and simple. Once all these factors are in place, fixing the relationship becomes much easier, more enjoyable, and way less painful!

What’s the success rate of your clients?

There is no program or therapist in the world who can fix every situation.  The fact is, some don’t do the work involved, or are not 100% committed.  Those who do complete the assignments, show up for the coaching, and are committed to really working on their relationship always come out happier and on a more positive future path.

It is not uncommon for couples to enter my programs broken or on the verge of divorce. Many couples are able to press the re-set button on their relationships and move forward more joyfully, than ever before. However, some couples don’t stay together. The good news is that they are able to split more peacefully and respectfully.

Do you do one-to-one coaching?

I only take ten one-to-one coaching clients per year.  Potential clients must go through a screening process to make sure it’s the right fit.

How long does it take?

The programs range from a few weeks to three months. We have affordable, ongoing, monthly programs for those who want continued support to achieve their goals.  Most couples report feeling a positive change within the first week. I don’t like to waste time, so I push you to take action right away, to get to a happier place, in as little time as possible.  Trainers have said I’m a fast-twitch kinda gal. I guess that translates into my coaching too!

How does group coaching work?

We get together virtually two to four times per month. We do a training and I stay on, as long as necessary, to make sure all questions and concerns are answered, from that day’s training or from prior weeks.

Can we maintain our privacy?

Absolutely, you choose the name you enter. You can opt to have your face shown on the video calls or not.

What if your coaching doesn’t help us?

I do everything in my power to go over and beyond to help each couple be successful and get to a better place. However, if you don’t notice profound positive results, I will refund 100% of your money. My only requirement is that you show all your completed assignments, to prove you made a solid attempt. The reason I require this is that I only want to work with committed people, so if you’re not ready or fully invested in fixing your relationship, I’d prefer you wait until the timing is right for you.  I pour my heart and soul into working to improve people’s relationships and lives, so when I feel like I failed someone, I take it very seriously.

How do you tailor your coaching to fit our needs?

We have you take a well-developed quiz that helps us know where we need to focus. We take into account what’s comfortable for your budget too. Once we have this information we will make our recommendation.

How do I know if I’m the right fit for your programs?

Our goal of achieving a 100% client success rate is vitally important to us.  We ask that you be a person who is dedicated to their relationships success, is serious about creating a permanent lifestyle change, and will focus on achieving RESULTS. You must be ready to commit to participating actively, and open to stepping out of your comfort zone, to have the best outcome!

Can you help me if my partner is physically abusive?

I can help couples through most issues but physical abuse or psychological abuse, needs to be handled by a trained doctor who can help you be safe.  I strongly suggest you seek help right away.

Can you help me if our marriage problems revolve around my spouse’s drug/alcohol addiction?

Drug and alcohol addiction is best dealt with by a specialist in that area. If you are living with someone who is addicted Al Anon is a valuable, free resource to help you start the process of healing. www.al-anon.org/    for teens:  al-anon.alateen.org/
